We begin the workshop by exploring the basic fundamentals of memory and how our brains gather, organise and store information.
Shaun puts his money where his mouth is and demonstrates some memory feats. All of which use a combination of the techniques your guests will learn throughout the workshop. By the time they leave they will have obtained the skillset to try these demonstrations themselves.
A simple technique for remembering lists and tasks. This introduces us to the main principle that all these techniques share and gets our creative juices flowing. Watch as your guests recall lists of objects with ease with only a few minutes of practice. We call one person up to demonstrate their new skill to the rest of the room and reward them with a prize.
Now that we have learnt the basic principles, we take a deeper dive into the world of memory. We discover the world of memory palaces and mental journeys and begin to explore the true feats that our minds are capable of. Every participant will leave the session with the beginnings of their own memory palace.
We step things up a gear now and explore the world of numbers. With Shaun's simple system of converting numbers to letters we discover that we can learn large sequences of numbers with ease. Pin numbers, phone numbers, birthdays and dates all become simple to retain and recall. We also discover a way to pinpoint the position of anything within a list of 100 'things'. Shaun then goes on to explain how this system is a crucial part of his original demonstration and as a bonus he explains his system for being able to recall the order of a shuffled deck of cards.
After the most intense part of the workshop let's relax a little now and have some fun with names. After just a few minutes your guests will have a handful of fun techniques that will help you easily recall people's names. This part is always fun and we go around the room learning names. All guests partake as we mentally dress each other in fancy dress, silly clothing and often as our favourite celebrities.
We round the session off with some final tips and tricks. We discuss everything from lifestyle, sleep, diet and exercise to sociability, technology and learning. We finish the session with a fun final test.....let's see who has really been paying attention?
Each guest will leave with access to a downloadable PDF containing all the information covered in the workshop including Shaun's 1-100 number system which is theirs to use and adapt.
